1. Choose Braces-Friendly Candy Only

Caramel apples, gummy bears, and other candies that stick to your teeth are not a good idea. If you want to enjoy candy on Halloween, go for one of the many options that will keep your appliance intact and will be easy to clean up! The rule is, if it is hard, sticky or crunchy – avoid it! Chocolates, chips, jello and M&M’s are great alternative choices.

2. Maintain A Regular Dental Routine

With braces, it’s even more critical to keep up your dental care routine. Make sure that both your teeth and orthodontic appliance stay clean. After eating candy make sure to brush and floss thoroughly. Keep your toothpaste, toothbrush and floss readily available so there are no excuses! In sight = top of mind! 

3. Hydrate, Hydrate, & Hydrate

Drinking water is a great way to flush away sugar and lingering food particles in your mouth. Make sure to stay hydrated during your night of fun!
