Changes This School Year

We understand that kids are facing many new changes this school year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face coverings, social distancing protocols and limited class sizes have all been implemented in schools across the country. We admire all the educators and students who are going back to school with a careful mindset in efforts to stop the spread of the virus and keep our communities safe.

As we enter the new school year, our commitment to your health and safety remains as important as ever. At York Mills Orthodontics, we’ve equipped our office with additional health and safety measures so you can feel comfortable and confident when booking your family’s back-to-school appointments. Some of the changes you will  notice include barrier shields, advanced hepa filtration, temperature checks, hand sanitizing stations, physical distancing and additional PPE. Oral Health Remains A Priority

Just because face masks are mandatory this school year doesn’t mean you should forget about your oral health! Did you know that children with poor oral health are nearly 3 times more likely to miss school due to dental pain? One of the best ways to keep your child’s smile happy and healthy this school year is to bring them in for an orthodontic assessment.

If you have a child who is starting the second or third grade, or an older child who has never been to see an orthodontist, now would be a good opportunity to bring them in! An early orthodontic screening will allow you and your child to understand how the teeth and bite are developing, which will help you to decide if and when orthodontic treatment may be necessary.
